Nothing Gold can Stay on Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:29 pm
Ben sat squatted on the top of a few Saphriel mountains, staring down, although he was afraid of heights. As a golden sheen covered the beautiful lake Serenity, the mist hung around, silver against the shining gold. His eyes were centered east. . .waiting.
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf's a flower
But only so an hour
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay
The sun rose in the sky, burning away the silver mist, but keeping the glory of the lake. He smiled wide. What a beauty the dawn was.
